Create Index at High Speed

Check Index Gap

Users can verify how much gap exists by issuing the following query.

mach>SHOW INDEXGAP
TABLE_NAME                                INDEX_NAME                                GAP
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SENSOR_DATA                               IDX_SENSOR_YEAR                           0
SENSOR_DATA                               IDX_SENSOR_MONTH                          0

To minimize the gap, adjust two properties below.

INDEX_BUILD_THREAD_COUNT

You can use multiple threads to build multiple indexes at the same time. The default value is 3. If it has enough CPUs, it can improve the speed of index creation by increasing this value.

INDEX_BUILD_THREAD_COUNT = 8

INDEX_BUILD_MAX_ROW_COUNT_PER_THREAD

One "index build thread" can build multiple indexes with several turns. It's not building one index and moving to next one. It is building a specific number of rows and move onto next one, this value is saved in INDEX_BUILD_MAX_ROW_COUNT_PER_THREAD. If you want to use a specific number, simply increase the value and execute it. The default value is 100,000. For example:

INDEX_BUILD_MAX_ROW_COUNT_PER_THREAD = 300000
